Solace Spa 101

Appointment Times

Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your appointment time, so you can get settled into your robe and enjoy a fresh cup of herbal tea or mineral water and warm aromatherapy mineral foot soak. If you are late, your appointment will still end at the scheduled time, as to accommodate our other guests. Our practitioners would like you to get the full benefit of your appointment, so please do arrive on time.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please allow us a minimum of 24 hours notice Monday – Thursday.  We require 48 hrs notice for Fridays and Saturdays. Please call or email us by 9am on the Wednesday or Thursday prior to the weekend so we are able to give the space to someone else. If you cancel late we have a $60 late cancellation fee per person booked. Our ‘no show’ policy is we charge for the full session price.

Emergency cancellations are determined at the practitioner’s discretion. If we need to reschedule, we will do so within 24 hours whenever possible. If an emergency arises and we cannot keep an appointment, we provide a 30% discount with your next session.

All WELLNESS RETREAT reservations require a $200/day non-refundable deposit. We require a 14 day cancelation for a full refund.  Late cancelations are charged the full amount.   

All overnight Lotus Loft bookings (single night reservations) require a minimum of 5 days notice.  We require 7 days notice for consecutive night bookings.  If late notice is given we charge full price. 

Seniors

We offer a 10% discount to seniors on 60+ minute bookings. Please just let us know upon booking.

Taxes

Spa Services, catered meals and overnights are subject to 5% GST.

Spa Products are subject to 7% PST and 5% GST

Gift certificates tax is paid by recipient at the time service is rendered.

Payment Options

We accept cash, debit, Visa and Master Card and Paypal. We also accept cheques from local Salt Spring residents.

Gratuities

We are committed to providing superior service to our guests. Our prices do not include gratuity. Leaving gratuity for work well done seems to be the norm, but of course, it is optional.

18% gratuity is added to Spa Parties of 5 or more.

Gift Certificates

Everyone loves the gift of Solace and our gift certificates are a wonderful way to give the gift of Health and Well Being. Gift certificates may be purchased for any of our products and/or services for any dollar amount or selected service.

Gift certificates must be presented at the time of your appointment for payment and cannot be redeemed for cash. Gift certificates are available instantly in increments of $25 on our website, by email request, at the spa or by mail. Gift certificates tax is paid by recipient at the time service is rendered.

Etiquette

Our goal is to create a nurturing and comfortable environment.

Please turn off cell phones, pagers, and watch alarms. We would like you to enjoy the moment, as well as not disturb other guests.

Please be clean, having showered the same day as your session, do not eat a heavy meal less than two hours prior to the session, and be present (not under the use of drugs or alcohol).  We have a shower and you are welcome to use it prior to your massage if needed. This must be booked in advance.

Sessions begin and end at scheduled times. Payment is expected at the time service is rendered.

Children & Minors

Children and minors are welcome to participate in our spa services with parental consent and for children under the age of 12 please have the parent present at the spa during their appointment.

Pets

Please be welcomed by our very friendly cat Spirit. He loves to greet you and he is very loving. They are at no time inside the spa building. If you have any concerns, please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate your needs. We do however ask that you leave your pets at home while you are visiting the spa.

Professionalism

We provide you with competent and professional care customizing each session to address your specific needs. Personal and professional boundaries are respected at all times. Our equipment and supplies are clean and safe and we keep accurate records and review charts before each session.

We perform services for which we are qualified (physically and emotionally)and able to do, and refer to appropriate specialists when work is not within the scope of practice and/or not in the client’s best interest.

Ear candling is done as a hygienic procedure and the client to his/her own ear inserts the application as we assist.

Your privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
