Solace Health & Safety

Health & Safety Protocols

We follow all current provincial health authority mandates. We strive to ensure quality outcomes by implementing an evolving plan that may be updated as we go and our staff have been specially trained with industry standards of disinfection protocols.

We have a heath and safety policy for covid-19 in place and we hope that you find strength in our preventative measures to control the safe environment we have at the spa and know that we are doing everything we possibly can to help stop the spread of Covid-19.  Lawfully, no personal health information about employees will be divulged to customers. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

We do not work at the spa if we have cold/flu symptoms and we require staff to provide a negative covid19 test upon returning to work if any of the symptoms were presenting. We ask that you please re book your reservation with us if you are feeling sick.

We are committed to ensuring your health and safety and will continue to update protocols as suggested by our provincial health officials. We have waived our 72 hour cancellation policy for any sickness symptoms. Thank you for your honesty.

We ask that you please take your temperature as means of self monitoring symptoms of COVID-19 before your appointment. If you have a temperature over 37.5 degrees celsius or any other symptoms we ask that you please cancel your appointment and reschedule when you are feeling better. These symptoms include: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and painful swallowing, stuffy or runny nose, loss of sense of smell, headache, muscle aches, fatigue and loss of appetite.

We do not have an indoor waiting area but we do have a lovely garden courtyard and outdoor tea lounge you can enjoy. We will have you fill out forms in the tea lounge and please wait there until a staff member comes to get you. Please arrive 15 min early. There is a washroom if needed at anytime in the spa…please enter through the door by the pond. We are mandated to wear masks indoors and we also need you to have your mask on if you are within the tea lounge or within 6 feet of others at the spa.

Upon booking you will need to provide pre payment (charged on the day of your treatment) and a receipt will be emailed to you. You can specify upon booking any gratuity amount or there will be optional gratuity tipping cards in the treatment room for you to indicate 15% – 20% – 25% or a dollar amount and then we will charge your card on file. We do accept cash or debit at the counter if you would rather. Thank you for your patience with this new process as we are trying to have less contact time at the reception desk and more spacing between guests.

Guests will be required to wash their hands before entering the treatment rooms. All staff wash their hands between guests and hourly.

Our cleaning protocols at Solace Organic Spa

What is the difference between disinfection and sterilization?

Sterilization is defined as the destruction of all microbial life, whereas disinfection involves the use of a chemical sterilant/agent to eliminate virtually all recognized pathogenic microorganisms. Disinfection and sterilization are both decontamination processes. While disinfection is the process of eliminating or reducing harmful microorganisms from inanimate objects and surfaces, sterilization is the process of killing all microorganisms. There are three levels of disinfection: high, intermediate, and low. The high-level disinfection process kills all vegetative microorganisms, mycobacteria, lipid and nonlipid viruses, fungal spores, and some bacterial spores.
