Our cleaning protocols at Solace Organic Spa

As we value your safety and ours we have invested in a VITAL OXIDE fogger (approved by Health Canada to kill COVID-19) and to give you the safest non toxic, hypo-allergenic environment whether you are at the spa to buy product, have a spa treatment, sauna or retreat we are ensuring the upmost levels of sanitation.

We will use the fogger over all surfaces before we open daily and at the end of the day. The vital oxide disinfectant is effective for up to 7 hours. We also fog the sauna between guests with vital oxide and this takes a total of 10 minutes to be effective. All critical surfaces will be wiped between guests.

Frequently touched surfaces are: massage table face cradles, stools, chairs, spa equipment, counters and handles, garbages, light switches, doorknobs, iPad and cell phones, debit/credit machine, telephone, kettle and tea pot handles, clipboards, pens, tables, floors and soap dispensers and faucet handles. All critical surfaces will be wiped between guests. We have hand sanitizer readily available around the spa and we appreciate if you could please use it before entering and as you please.

Our clients are assured that we take all the necessary prevention in sanitary procedures and sterilization of our pedicure bowls and feet and nail implements. We also believe in educating you honestly about your healthcare and will let you know if you have a fungal condition on your skin or nails. We do all laundry in-house using high-heat sanitation wash cycles, natural detergents and bleach alternatives. We have designated towels and linens for each type of service we provide. We fog with vital oxide inside the sauna between guests.

We do not work on you if we have cold/flu symptoms and we ask that you please re book your reservation with us ASAP if you are feeling sick. We are committed to ensuring your health and safety and will continue to update protocols as suggested by our Canadian health officials.

We also disinfect (after cleaning) with PREempt RTU Cleaner Liquid, paying special attention to frequently touched surfaces.

What is the difference between disinfection and sterilization?

Sterilization is defined as the destruction of all microbial life, whereas disinfection involves the use of a chemical sterilant/agent to eliminate virtually all recognized pathogenic microorganisms. Disinfection and sterilization are both decontamination processes. While disinfection is the process of eliminating or reducing harmful microorganisms from inanimate objects and surfaces, sterilization is the process of killing all microorganisms. There are three levels of disinfection: high, intermediate, and low. The high-level disinfection process kills all vegetative microorganisms, mycobacteria, lipid and nonlipid viruses, fungal spores, and some bacterial spores.

Health & Safety Protocols

We strive to ensure quality outcomes by implementing an evolving plan that may be updated as we go and our staff have been specially trained with industry standards of disinfection protocols.

We ask that you please take your temperature as means of self monitoring symptoms of COVID-19. If you have a temperature over 37.5 degrees celsius or any other symptoms we ask that you please cancel your appointment and reschedule when you are feeling better. These symptoms include: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat and painful swallowing, stuffy or runny nose, loss of sense of smell, headache, muscle aches, fatigue and loss of appetite.

We do not have an indoor waiting area but we do have a lovely garden courtyard and outdoor tea lounge you can enjoy. Social Distancing (6 feet apart) must be respected while waiting for your appointment. We will have you fill out forms in the tea lounge and please wait there until a staff member comes to get you. Arriving 10-15 min early is sufficient. There is a washroom if needed at anytime in the spa…please enter through the door by the pond.

Upon booking you will need to provide pre payment (charged on the day of your treatment) and a receipt will be emailed to you. You can specify upon booking any gratuity amount or there will be gratuity tipping cards in the treatment room for you to indicate 15% – 20% – 25% and then we will charge your card on file. Thank you for your patience with this new process.

When physical distancing is not possible like during a spa or massage treatment the therapist will be wearing a mask.  We have sanitized fabric masks available to our guests if needed.

Guests will be required to change in the change room and put their belongings in a basket and asked to change into robes, wash their hands and use hand sanitizer before entering the treatment rooms. We will be asking you to not touch your belongings (ie: cell phones) until you leave the treatment room. 

We have now waived our 48 hour cancellation policy. Thank you for your honesty.
